Websites for martial arts schools, built by a karate coach

I know what parents look for before signing their child up.

I build sites that look great on launch day and keep working for years.

What you get

What your dojo site needs

For new families finding you, and students checking in between classes.

  • Free trial class signup, front and center

A trial class button on every page. Requests land in your email with the student's age and class, so you can call back the same day.

  • Children's program pages written for parents

Parents decide, so this page answers their questions: ages, what a first class looks like, and what to wear.

  • Schedule & pricing that stay current

Moved a class or changed a rate? Text me and it's updated.

  • Instructor bios & lineage

Your instructors, their ranks, and the teachers your style comes from.

  • Members-only section

Testing requirements, technique videos, or anything only certain students or ranks should see, behind a password.

  • Events & tournament results

Seminars, belt test dates, closures, and medal results parents love to share.

  • Photo & video gallery

Class photos and tournament videos that load fast on a phone.

  • Works with the software you already use

Keep your billing software. Your site links to its sign-up and member pages.

About me

A karate coach who builds websites

I started karate at six and trained at AABBA Karate in San Ramon for 12 years, where I earned my shodan in Hayashi-ha Shitō-ryū. I've also trained in Shotokan for six years, boxed for three, and spent two weeks training karate in Okinawa. Today I coach the Santa Clara University Karate club and train under 2012 World Champion Rika Usami.

By day I'm a quality assurance (QA) engineer at a software company. My job is finding what breaks before customers do, and I check your site the same way before it goes live.

I've been the student, the competitor, and the coach, so I build sites around what each of them needs, and around the parent deciding whether to sign their child up.

Two months ago I started judo, so I'm a white belt again. I know exactly what it feels like to walk into a new school for the first time, and that's the person your website is for.

I also built a data analysis site for the 2024–25 WKF kata season, because I like digging into the sport.

FAQ

Do I need to switch my billing or membership software?

No, keep using Kicksite, Spark Membership, Zen Planner, or whatever you already use! Your website links right to its sign-up, booking, and member portal pages, so nothing changes for your students or staff.

Can I update the schedule myself?

You don't have to! Just text or email me the change (even a quick photo of the schedule on your whiteboard works) and I'll take care of it. Every change is included, and I make small changes within 3 days and bigger ones within 5.

How does the members-only section work?

It's simple! You give your students a password, and they use it to open belt test requirements, written tests, or technique videos. Each rank can even have its own password. On the AABBA site, each rank's test is encrypted with its password, so nobody can open it without one. Want to change a password? Just let me know.

Do you only build sites for karate schools?

No, I build for any martial arts or combat sports school!

I already have a website. Can you redesign it?

Yes, I'd love to! That's exactly what I did for AABBA Karate and Usami Rika Dojo. If you already own your domain, you keep paying for it, and I'll move it over and connect it to your new site, so your web address stays the same.

Who owns the website?

You own your domain name, business name, logo, and the photos, videos, and business information you give me. I own the website's design and code, including its layout, styling, and site files.
